For Dinwiddie it will be a return to familiar territory; he spent five season with the Nets from 2016-17 until 2020-21. Appearing in 274 games, including 132 starts, Dinwiddie averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He can provide capable scoring off the pine or as a starter if need be.
The KD and Kyrie era began with such promise ends with a whimper a conference call and the stroke of a pen. at least as it pertains to Irving, ultimately derailed by injuries. Irving’s time on the court was limited by injuries, he only appeared in 143 games , an asinine and completely avoidable suspension for exercising “my body, my choice” as it related to the COVID-19 vaccination and a vacuous, multi-tiered suspension handed down by the genocide-funding owner of the Nets for retweeting a movie that some people didn’t like.
Joining with Luka Dončić, in Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks now have another elite scorer who can direct some of the considerable defensive attention that Dončić commands and can even open up the offense to allow him to play off ball.
